Recently lost a lot of coral and thought of shutting the tank down. Instead, I’ve decided to keep it and do fish only since I’ve refrained from some beautiful fish in the past since they weren’t reef safe. It’s a 100g tank

Current stock list:
Pair of clowns
Fox face
Brown tang
Fairy wrasse
Diamond goby
Green chromis
Lawnmower blenny

I’m willing to take some fish out in case some new ones aren’t compatible. I for sure want a puffer (I’ve read they have good personalities)

What are some of your favorite fish?

that tanks already pretty stocked.

also, puffers run the risk of eating inverts (quite likely) and corals (50/50, depends on the coral and puffer)

edit:
NVM saw your doing FOWLR, in that case you could be okay depending on puffer. also, prob should get a fuge if you don't have one.

Yeah, I’m willing to take some fish out and replace with what others recommend. I’m aware I’ll have to provide the puffer with hard shell food and he’ll likely eat CUC. Unfortunately the coral part I won’t have to worry about since I lost just about all of it

what puffers are you looking for?

I would suggest a Valentini Puffer

It’s between valentini or dogface. I know I’ll have to rehome a dogface since they get way bigger than valentini.

I do have a 30 gallon sump where I’ll be starting a fuge. I threw in a tennis ball sized clump of chaeto to start off.

Get a few angels in there!
I love Chaetodontoplus species (Specifically the C. melanosoma) so definitely try one of them as they’re a slow grower so IMHO won’t get all the way to their max size. Or if you don’t want a medium Angel then go with a Centropyge species.
