tank info: marine 60.2 waterbox, 44g display volume 24x24 cube (very well designed tank and would highly recommend this company) 2 kessil a160w lights and 2 mp40s for flow. and about 3 inches of sand. been up and running for around 6 months with an apex system installed.

current fish stock: one hawkfish, one white clown, one shrimp and maybe 3 or so hermits left. I think the hawk is killing them. lost 3 fish from suicide jumps. just got a lid in place, learned the hard way that its not if a fish will jump out but when lol.

current coral stock : 3 torches, 3 hammers, one BTA (my fav, clown hosted it as soon as I got it settled in) and one rock flower nem. all corals doing great! just need to get my phosphates lower as they seem to sit around .24

my tank is currently having some hair algea problems and im starting to see some baby aptasia on the rock work so im looking for some fish that will help ease this problem and of course be ok with my current 2 fish. I would like a blue spotted goby, lawnmower blenny and another clown.

any suggestions would be greatly apprecated as I am still a newb to this crazy hoby that is consuming my life and bank account lol

Aiptasia eating filefish will take care of that for you, make sure that after all the aiptasia is gone he either eats prepared food or you sell him so he doesn’t die or peppermint shrimp will do it, any tang will take care of the algae for you just stick with smaller ones if you don’t plan on upgrading (the tang police will get you) or a lawnmower blenny will probably do the job just fine. I’d get some snails for clean up crew but that hawk might kill them, dunno maybe try feeding him more and he might stop killing your inverts. Would highly recommend another clown, preferably smaller/ similar in size to the one you have now to minimize the chance of violence (make sure that if it’s a maroon get another maroon etc) since you don’t have any sps it really opens up your fishabilities cause a lot of people are wary of dwarf angels due to their sps eating habit which is kinda expensive for their keepers, but in my opinion they’re one of the pretties fish there are and come in what feels like a billion colors. Have fun!

yes I was also thinking of a dwaf flame angel or coral beauty as well. was just worried about the hawkfish and flame angel maybe not having the best time since they are the same color and size

There are many types! Potter’s (also called scribbled), Brazilian/African (apparently they’re different) flameback, coral beauty, bicolor, lemon peel, orange peel, deepwater coral beauty, cherub, keyhole, multinationals, rusty... the list goes on I’m sure you’ll find one you love
