Fish Stocking - 4 fish at once

Hello, I’m going to add a “batch” of fish once they’re done with QT dr reef in Tulsa, or will be rather, and would like some insight.

I want to add:
Two spot bristletooth tang (2-3”)
Atlantic blue tang (juvenile)
Dusky Wrasse
Springeri Damsel

6’ long, 24” wide and 30” deep, lots of rock work and areas to hang out away from each other.

already stocked:
Blood orange clown
Ocellaris clown (paired)
Midas Blenny
Coral Beauty (under 2.5-3”)

Would this be too much at once? I wouldn’t be adding any other fish unless something happens or I get bored

I would not hesitate to do this. I regularly add multiple fish at once. If anything, it helps minimize aggression. If you're worried, you could always dose a little microbacter7 for a few days after adding the fish.

I assume that your tank is cycled And you already have fish. OK. The second batch probably produce more ammonia waste than the first batch. But your tank is big enough and you already have fish so you should be fine. Also adding tangs together does tend to minimize aggression.

This is no problem for a cycled tank. As was state above, you can add some liquid bacteria. If I have a heads up on new additions, I tend to feed the tank a bit extra the week before to boost the bacterial load. Also, fish that are full generally show less aggression. Have found it easier that way. When the new fish come in, I feed what I had gotten up to.

Don’t add the tangs in till the last batch. If you add them in earlier then you may be limited on what you can add after (Not so much with the Ctenochaetus but definitely with the Acanthurus).

Add them one at a time, a few days apart. The tangs may need to be added at the same time to prevent aggression.
The reason is, adding them all at once may throw your system out of balance; things like decimating your copepod population, ammonia or nitrate spike…stuff like that.

Totally fine to add those at once to a 220 gallon.

I don't like Atlantic blues for home aquariums. Other than in the Caribbean or in a public aquarium, I've never seen a healthy adult in person or online.

Well, I ordered my fish, will be a few weeks before they’re ready. My wife’s interest has picked up considerably and I’m now setting up a 20g cube for her, figure if the pseudo and damsel don’t get along, one goes to her tank

Careful with that dotty, unless it's a fridmani (orchid). If it isn't an orchid, I might put it in the 20 gallon right away. They are hard to catch, as they go right into a hidey hole when spooked.

Go Fridmani. Overall a better looking fish one of my favs

Also, elongated dottybacks aren’t too bad with aggression and stay smaller.

For what it's worth I added a timor wrasse, a skunk tilefish, 2 red headed gobies, 2 black line fang blennies, and 12 baby clownfish to my 75 gallon today, along with 3 maxi mini nems and a bunch of frags. And I will be adding another huge group of frags, a couple more maxi minis, and a few fairy wrasses next week. Dosing some microbacter daily, will do a water change Sunday or Monday, and have no worries about any issues from it.
