Hey, I'm looking for ideas for what to stock my biocube with. Post a picture of your biocube and list of fish you have In it.

hello

my stocking list is

2 ocellaris clownfish (1 misbar, 1 DaVinci)
1 red firefish
1 yellow watchman (+ pistol shrimp)
1 springeri damsel.

im looking to add a royal gramma as the last addition

Nice tank! Thanks for sharing
My pleasure! at the moment it's fish only but I'm planning to add soft corals soon. Other than the fish I have, I would recommend lubbock's fairy wrasse, longnose hawkfish, Algae blenny, midas blenny, or yellowhead jawfish (make sure you have a sandbed)

Also maybe a dwarf angel such as a flame or coral beauty if you don't mind the 50/50 risk of your corals getting nipped

Idk my local fish store does but it says 70 online. The tang in my local fish store is fine and in about 4 inches.
Personally I wouldn't do it because 1. They are quite active and 2. they are 6 inches long, althouth there are some stationary fish that are 6 inches long like jawfish.

It is also Called a Flame Fin Or Tomini Tang
I personally have one in my 20 but I will have to take it out but 32 gallons would be perfect.
Although the Tomini tang is one of the smaller tangs, a 32 biocube is not even close to a suitable size tank for that fish.

That's what I learned. There are some 6 inch fish (albeit stationary) that can go into a 32 gallon but a tomini tang is not one of them. They are far too active.

I have a 32G
Current inhabitants:
1 fire shrimp
2 clowns
1 yellow watchman/pistol shrimp
1 royal gramma
about 25 rock flower nems
3 RBTA (I had one, that has split a few times)
Several Corals- hammers/frog spawn/acans/zoas/mushrooms/bowerbanki
Solid CUC with- emerald crab/urchin/nassarius/turbos/blue legged hermits

Everyone seems to live in harmony currently. I absolutely love the watchman goby/pistol shrimp combo. Prob my fave in the tank. Everyone else seems to love the rock flowers.

Please don't put any variety tang in a biocube. It would be suitable as a QT tank for a month or two, nothing more.

I dont have one but my local fish store has one.
2 Designer Clowns
A Green Mandarin Goby
A Flame Tang
A Engineer goby
2-3 Sexy shrimp
Do not follow this example. Engineer gobies get too large for nano tanks, and tangs are far too active for nano tanks at any purchasable size. The mandarin isn't the best idea either, due to the difficulty of keeping them fat in small tanks. This is an example of what NOT to put in a nano; the only truly suitable species are the clowns and the sexy shrimp.

For a tank this size, you want fish that will get to no more than 3" long, /maybe/ 4" if it's an inactive species like a watchman goby. 3-5 fish, each 2-3" long, would be a reasonable stock level. Below is a non-exhaustive list of the species that come to mind. You'll want to research anything before buying, but, as a general rule, you should be able to pretty well mix and match these, as long as you don't get two very similar fish. For example, don't get two shrimpgobies.
-percula clownfish
-ocellaris clownfish
-pretty much any watchman/shrimpgoby, best paired with a tiger or candycane pistol shrimp
-clown goby
-eviota and/or trimma gobies (can live in groups, can stock 2-3 of these in place of one nano fish)
-neon goby
-barnacle blenny
-tailspot blenny
-firefish (any species)
-bangaii or pyjama cardinalfish
-yellowtail blue or springeri damselfish
-curious wormfish
-any assessor you can get
-any dottyback you can get (add last)
-skilletfish (don't combine with tiny fish)
-rooster waspfish (make sure it eats prepared foods before buying)

I have a pair of ocellaris clowns, a yellow banded possum wrasse, a blue line goby, and an elongated dottyback. In the past I’ve had a Royal Gramma, green clown goby and a Swissguard basslet. The key is to choose fish that don’t need lots of horizontal swimming room.

Another great fish for your tank would be a longnose hawkfish. They don't have a swim bladder so they spend the day hanging out on rocks, frag racks, etc.. They're a beautiful addition and don't require a ton of room so your biocube has plenty of space. Just be sure to provide ample space for it to hang out and you'll be able to enjoy seeing it out and about all day.

I'd add maybe 4 3 inch fish at most. Cubes are kind of hard to stock in my opinion because I think fish have more room to themselves in a longer tank. Make sure there are plenty of rocks with several hiding spaces and caves throughout the tank.
