hello everyone! i have 75g tank that i need help for stocking ideas.

currently i have in the tank

1platinum storm clownfish

1fancy white nemo

1 firefish

1 springers damsel

i want to have at least 10 fish, do you think i can fit in 12-13?
im probably going to get the fish below

1 tang (undecided on which one, help me choose)

1 exquisite wrasse

1 banggai cardinalfish

1gramma basslet

what do you think for the rest of the fish? lets here your ideas, concerns about these fish together, a fish you like that will fit in here, and pretty much anything about fish!

thanks so much!!!

If you stay with mostly small fish that don’t exceed 3” at maturity perhaps. If considering a tang I would only look at the bristletooths for a 75 the other tangs such as zebrasoma and acanthurus need more real estate.

Also keep in mind it’s not just fish size compared to tank size. Sometimes it’s compatibility and aggression issues that will dictate your sticking.

How much filtration do you have? What does your aquascape look like?

Yes to their point, if you have a minimally scaped 75 gallon and the next fish you add is a tomini tang, it's likely that fish is going to really not like any new additions after it finishes settling in over a week or 2

aquascape is two large arches with two caves and lots of little hiding spaces on the base rock, filter is a large canister filter with lots of biomedia, about as much as a normal sump would have

not really minimally scaped 45-50 pounds of live rock

Without a Skimmer or fuge on a well stocked 75 you're going to have a very hard time controlling nutrient levels

If you're wed to having lots of fish, one fun thing to do would be grab a Florida purple barnacle cluster off ebay then add a group of 4-6 barnacle blennies.
thats sounds super cool!

i figured but i did have 9 fish in there at one time with no problems

I'd also describe 45-50 pounds of liverock in a 75 minimally scaped. For reference, there is around 200 pounds of live rock through my tank and sump in my 120. 1-1.5 pounds of rock per display gallon is common for live rock quantity

oh ok

i definitly dont have to have a lot of fish
I don't want to discouraged it. Just test frequently over the first few months and add slow starting with the fish you most want. Adjust as you go. That'd be my suggestion. If you start seeing lots of aggression, you're probably full

i have my favs to put in there

You should do 4-6 cardinal fish. They are schooling and timid. Doesn't matter if you do pajama, bangaii, or mix, a small school will look great. As far as tangs, I'd reccomend two. Either a yellow and purple, or a hippo (regal) and desjardini (red sea sailfin) make a great combo in a 75 gal. I currently have a Regal, Purple, and Desjardini in my 75. They are small and get along well and will be fine in there for a couple years together, but I am also getting a 180 in 2 wks and the regal will go in there when he's bigger. Plus, you can get regals captive bred like i did. Saves money for more corals, and is ecological.

i was thinking maybe getting a stop light cardinal(i think thats what there called) anybody kept them?
