Hi, I have a 150 gallon mixed reef that has been running for about 5 years.Quite a lot of live rock and housing two happy mandarins for about two years now. I would love to get an ornate wrasse but I am reading that they love to hunt pods, although it is nor their only food source. Do you think my tank could support both the mandarins and a leopard wrasse? I have a small sump down one side panel of the tank but no refugium. Thanks

An ornate leopard wrasse is going to put a dent in your pod population even if it eats prepared foods. It will hunt pods all day long and compete with your mandarins. It sounds like you’re successfully keeping two mandarins long term, personally I wouldn’t chance disrupting that success.

Yes i know it can. I have mandarin gobys, sand sifter stars and other pod eaters in a 160 xxl 750. Plus an ornate leopard wrasse no problems they eat the food i feed the tank not just pods... go to algee barn every few months and add a few jars of pods u will be 100 percent good.
