Hey folks,

In my Biocube 32, I presently have two snowflake clowns, and a yellow watchman goby. I'd like to add one to two more fish, but I am having trouble deciding on what to get.

I do cupramine/prazipro quarantine my fish for one month before going into my main tanks, so if there are particular concerns about quarantine for your suggestion, please let me know.

Are you looking for something that fills a specific role or just something to add color to the reef?

Royal gramma for some color or maybe a Hawkfish for personality?

Royal gramma all the way. Nice colour. Nice movement. One of my favourites.

Or maybe a sixline wrasse if you have a tight lid. I hear they can grow to be kinda bullies but you should be ok w the clowns and the watchman goby.

Also consider a pistol shrimp friend for your goby. If they pair up, you’ll be set for hours of happy tank watching :) obviously can’t copper the shrimp. I have all inverts go through a 76 day fallow period before DT.

Best of luck

I have a Gramma and a Blenny in my 90 gallon. I love them, but I would be a little concerned about the Midas in a 30 with their size. Another gramma sounds like a great idea!

About the pistol shrimp - I already have a skunk cleaner shrimp in the tank, would there be any issue with having a pistol with him?

Not really looking for utility necessarily, more just a fun fish that would get along with current occupants.

I kept a sunk cleaner with a candy cane pistol in a 34 gallon display for about a year and a half with zero issues (then my Six Line decided to murder my red banded goby... his buddy (candy cane pistol) only lasted a few months without him). You should be good to go!

I have a skunk cleaner and a pistol shrimp in my 55g. Pistol shrimp made its cave in a hollow rock. Cleaner shrimp hangs out on the rock all day long. No issues.

Edit: pistol shrimps like to dig and move rubble near their cave. Small frags left on the floor may be confiscated and used to reinforce the shrimp’s cave. Or end up under a pile of substrate. Beat to keep them slightly elevated.

i would suggest a dottyback of some type orchid and splendid are my fav and fang blenny like a black stripe preferably tank bred

or a dwarf angler if you get one small they shouldn't outgrow anyone but they are always a risk to try and eat something

A small group of barnacle blennies is fascinating to watch.

Yellow assessors are brightly colored and often swim upside down.
