Hey guys, I'm going to be in Virginia Beach (Sandbridge to be specific) and would love to check out some of the local fish stores while I'm there. Anybody have any good places you would recommend for me to check out?

Thanks,

Curtis

Sandbridge is an awesome place. My family had been going on vacation there since I was 1. I don't know any fish stores in the area I just always have to say something when I hear someone talk about it. Don't hear too many people mention Sandbridge only Virginia beach. Have a great time man.

This is my first time to Sandbridge and so far I love it. One street away from the beach and a pool in the back yard. We've got the best of both worlds. Definitely going to do this again next year.

Animal Jungle and Fish Safari are two stores in VA. Beach to check out.

Thanks for the info sportzfish. We plan on checking them both out while we are here (maybe even tonight).

If you like seafood check out the little place up the road into Sandbridge. Great shecrab soup. Or if you're into cooking your own there's a little red shack on the same road. Best prices around and very fresh. Dont let the outside scare you away...lol. The fish place in the corner by the food store is a rip off in my opinion. Pretty bummed I didn't go this year so I will live vicariously through you. Bright side is I'm goingto the samana peninsula instead. Have a great trip

We had a chance to check out both of those fish stores today. Animal Jungle looked so promising as we drove up, unfortunately they were renovating their saltwater section:mad2:. Of all the times for them to tear down and remodel, it had to be when we were in town. They have an amazing selection of birds there too, if you are into that kind of thing.

Fish Safari had a pretty decent selection of marine fish and corals but nothing that I just had to have. I will say for Fish Safari...If I was reading the prices correctly, they were amazing. Colonies of SPS for between $39-$49. What most other places would charge $100+ for.

Kschweer, I think I've seen the "little red shack" you are speaking of...and it's too late, I've already been scared off:laugh:
