Hey I recently lowered the water level in the back chambers of my fluval 13.5 due to the good people in this community on here but before I did that 2 green banded gobies would swim freely through the overflow and go in and out of the chamber meant for the slimmer but I’ve lowered the level and one of the gobies is back there what do y’all think can he get back into the main display area of the tank

They got through the small gaps in the overflow??

I’m not sure how he’d get back through. Do you have the hole in the centre of the black wall plugged at all?
Yes I have it plugged but before I lowered the water level they swam through freely you would see them go back and forth

But now that his in there with the water level lowered I’m not so sure he can get back out there babies like super small but I hear they don’t get that big anyway

I really don't see why you don't just raise the water level and wait for them to get back in the display tank before lowering it again? Otherwise I don't see a way for them to get back in, unless you caught them yourself.

Through the small gaps?? That’s interesting. They obviously like it round there. Do you have plenty of rock and hiding place in the main tank? Could they be hiding from something in the tank bullying them perhaps?

Ah ok, we’ll is say fish him out the back(excuse the pun) out back and just keep an eye out. Failing that, maybe put a bit of filter floss or mesh of some description up against it to stop them getting in?? See if they change their habits
