Hey guys, just lost a fish, looking for ideas so I can decide on a fish I want before I go to an LFS, and so I can do some research.

My current stock is 2 clowns in an anemone and a spot blenny. I'm looking for a sort of "main" fish for the tank, but any suggestion will help.

Thank you all,
Will

What kind of colors would you prefer on the fish also do you have sand in your tank

well one more question do you have coral or plan on having coral and do you have or plan on getting acros ? Lol then I can create a list of some good suggestions

I do have coral, I don't plan on getting SPS, too hard for me...

I kind of figured no to sps because most people have flow issues with hex tanks. You could get a royal gramma fish it’s half purple and yellow. I would probably stay away from dwarf angels with a tank that is more verticals. Maybe some wrasses as long as you have a lid on the tank. Diamond sand sifting gobies are entertaining and they do keep the sandbed looking nice they are funny to watch. Maybe get a school of blue green chromis that would look neat in a hex tank.

Yeah I was thinking of getting a wrasse, I had a leopard wrasse but it died... still don't know why. I had a royal gramma in my 75 and it jumped out. I also had a diamond goby I bought with the wrasse that ALSO died in my tank, I'm just now realizing how many fish I've killed oml.

If they both died at the same time it could be they were both sick from when you got it with the lfs. How long before they died when you got them ? And how did you acclimate. Do you normally have stable salinity I would recommend an ato if you don’t already have one. I’ve learned that drip acclimating seems to be the least stressful on introducing any new fish. Did your clowns go after them when you introduce it. Lol it’s a lot of questions but that’s how I can help give possibilities of what might have happened.

I think I gotta start drip acclimating, and matching salinity. That's what people have been tellin me here

Usually lfs keep them at a lower salinity at like 1.021 to 1.023 it doesn’t hurt to ask your lfs. So drip will help out a lot in those cases. Also a really beautiful wrasses first that size tank would be a melanurus wrasse they have a bunch of color to them.
