Hello everyone!!
I have a 29 gallon mixed reef with a clownfish and a Pygmy angle. The angle is very timid and the clown can be pretty mean but only when anything gets too close to his anemone. I also have a cleaner shrimp and a sexy shrimp. I have a 20 gallon sump with a HUGE skimmer. It is rated for a 75 gallons or something like that but a friend gave it to me for free and it works amazingly!

What are some good fish suggestions!! I really like Helfrichi firefish but I want some other suggestions. I have been looking for fish that are "out of the ordinary" and have a lot of personality. If you have any suggestions, please let me know

Lawnmower blenny- heaps of personality and a work horse for management of some forms of algae.

A firefish is a good option, some of them can be a bit shy tho.

A assessor would be another option, heaps of personality great temperament

Royal gramma might be another option as well.

I think either one of those would work. Other reefers will have other suggestions as well.

Thank you!! I have been checking out the assessors

I have also been looking at ORA white spotted firefish which they claim to me almost completely reef safe. I am just a little worried they wouldn't get enough to eat

Assessors are pretty cool - especially when they do a bit of sideways or upside-down swimming. (My yellow assessor loves to do swim sideways while doing a few loops just before settling into his little hole to sleep for the night. Spends most of the day out swimming normally in the water column.)

That said though...

If you want something that is always out and about throughout the water column and has a lot of personality, I'd also HIGHLY recommend a fang blenny (Meiacanthus).

Peaceful, active, inquisitive, and they get along with pretty much all other fish including shrimp blennies and combtooth blennies (the only fish they don't get along with are other fang blennies).

Wonderful, rather overlooked fish IMHO.

For a 29g your best bet would probably one that reaches a max size of 4" or less - such as Smith's... blackline ... harptail ... or kamohara blenny. The rest get up to 5" and, although they'd probably be okay in a 29g, don't think they'd have quite enough room zip around and truly be happy
