Hi there! : ) I have a 46 reef with two small, shy clowns. I'm running it topless, so I need suggestions for fish who aren't known to be bigtime jumpers. I'm looking for: reef safe, non-aggressive, colorful & fun to watch! Hit me with your best shot! : D

Even clowns will jump. I would build a screen cover for your tank.

My favorite are the wrasses. They are colorful and are always swimming. A common, inexpensive and colorful example would be the yellow canary wrasse. Plus they are good for pests as well.

Anything, it seems, will jump when harassed or chased. However, if you have a couple of shy clowns (hopefully occellaris or percula), you may be OK with a bangaii cardinal or two. Just nothing aggressive. Firefish have a great disposition, but they are inclined to fly.

+1 on Make a mesh Lid, it wont screw your lighting at all and if you want to look in the top, usually fish wont jump at your face unless they are a damsel lol. Kobe Bryant has one on his roof so he doesnt jump out

Everyone tells me it shouldn't of happened. But after a year my blue hippo jumped. :( Now I have screens. :)

Pajama Cardinals are cool fish. I really like green chromis too. Like others have said already, ANY fish will jump. I have had clowns go carpet surfing before.

I have a pair of Occellaris. :)

Thanks for the tips, guys! I was thinking along the lines of Cardinals, Firefish & Chromis!
