Man this hobby is 100% addicting!
I was kicking the idea around with the Wifie about having all my tank stuff in one location, she made the comment "why not the sump room"! So I've been a little busy this year... vacations, trips for work, DIY gazebo (love wood working), etc. I was able to rip out the floor, refinish it and the walls, buy some Rubbermaid containers, DIY build a tank stand, plus start the layout for the pluming.

With 3 tanks in the house this will be my last setup, just don't have the room at home, plus I want to stay married:xd:, please feel free to make suggestions to anything, or ask any questions... always know there's room for improvement.

I'm hoping to keep this thread as a "work-in-progress/my journal" to help me along.

Thanks.
Alex

the stand.

Was asked a question on the stand...

It's made from hot rolled square tube 1.5" x 0.1875-wall thinness.

it has 12 1/2" nuts welded to the stand, the 1/2" bolts for leveling it.

Open for now, nothing is going to sit under it, sump and return pump are off to the side. thinking I might add a sheet of OSB (sealed/clear-coated) to the bottom.

cool. Tractor Supply 2 miles from me. i will get a few of these soon me thinks. I like the idea of seeing whats inside. Thats what annoys me with the blue tanks and the Brute ones Always have to lift the top see whats in it. Your setup is as nice as Ive seen!

...quick note on the mixing station, the top 35g container has an installed float valve with adjustable arm just below the cap to be plumbed to a 150 gallon a day RO/DI unit... it will gravity feed an auto top off container just off the side of the sump...

I have it setup so that when I open the top ball valve it drains fresh RO/DI in to the bottom container, that has a MAG7 plumbed in using 3/4" PVC to mix the salt into the water and a suspend heated to warm it. It also has a direct top off line (1/2 tubing) to the sump for when I need to drip acclimate a fish or coral off the DT, allow me to pick salt water or if I need RO/DI for any given reason. I can also directly add saltwater by redirect the feed to that vinyl tubing on the wall, no more lugging buckets!
