Hi, I have a brand new 120g, 5 foot long mixed reef tank and need new fish. It is currently fishless and I am creating a list of what I want and need for fish. Can anybody approve the list below or suggest any additions/removals.
Stocking plan/list:

1 Bluethroat trigger
1 Regal Angelfish
1 Leopard wrasse
1 Six line wrasse
1 bristle tooth tomini tang
1 Kole tang
Pair of clownfish
4 Dartfish
3 Bartletts anthias
3 different Dotty backs
2 two spot gobies
1 Algae blenny

Congrats on the new tank. I'm jealous.

I see a few issues with your list:

Six line wrasses hate other wrasses. I wouldn't take the risk with the leopard.

I would recommend that you pick one of the tomini or kole. They are close cousins.

Dottybacks can be really nasty. The easiest going ones are the orchids (fridmani). Consider one or a pair of orchids.

Not sure about having the 2 gobies. Someone else will have to give an opinion there.

If your algae blenny is a lawnmower or starry or similar...sometimes bristle tooth tangs ( kole and tomini and others) and lawnmower blennies HATE each other. I have seen it work however.

does this new list work?

3 Bartletts anthias
2 orchid Dotty backs
Royal gramma basslet
3 kauderns cardinalfish
2 two spot gobies
1 sailfin/Algae blenny

I would not do a royal gramma with a dottyback, they are not compatible and can be very aggressive towards each other.

I would also caution you on the six line, Dona search on them here and you will find multiple posts about people ripping their tanks apart to get them out. That’s not to say some aren’t model citizens, but most aren’t.

The trigger is nice but you are at the low end of their needed tank size and get ready for them to move rocks and drags if you get one.

BRS had a pair of twin spot gobies in their 160. they added a sixline to help with some monti eating nudis and the sixline cleared up the nudi issue along with the gobies

Getting much closer.

I would get the leopard wrasse over the six line. It won't limit you with other fishes down the road.

As suggested, it's probably best to pick either the dottybacks or royal gramma.

The three kaudern's (bangaii) cardinals will eventually become two.

For what its worth, the regal in my 110 gallon grazes on xenia and clove polyps but leaves sps, lps, mushrooms, and zoas alone. Prefers to eat grape caulerpa from the sump and dragons breath macro from the main tank.

Also I have a sixline in with all my other fish and it's a model citizen, even gets along with a very similar looking swalesi basslet. I have 2 meleagris leopard wrasses, 1 moyers leopard wrasse, a small tail pencil wrasse, various fairy wrasses, and plenty of other small peaceful fish and he's never bothered any. Lots of food and lots of copepods goes a long way.
