I currently have a 10g saltwater tank. I wanted to add another fish before I went back to college but time has flown and now I am moving back in a week. If I got a fish today would it be okay to then move the tank in a week? I was thinking the stress might be too much to be put in a new tank today and then driving an hour and a half a week later. Thoughts?

I would honestly just wait until the tank is set up in your new location.

Best just to wait! Patience is key!

Check out my yotube channel, King Tide Corals. Chatted about that in my first video..

Regardless, best to wait so that the fish you decide on getting isnt forced into going through so much stress in such a short period. There will be fish when that tank is reset up, and they will be happy to move in!

I'd wait if you can but if it's too much would depend on the fish and situation. If for instance someone local has a hardy fish they were getting rid of I'd think the risk is low. I would not have a fish that's known to be sensitive shipped to me and move it in a week.
