Fish Update!

My bacteria bloomed cleared while I was away but rip to my goby. He jumped out and I was worried that would happen because the Iid wasn’t all the way on due to the UV sterilizer. He was definitely on the floor for a few days. I was told my Mom forgot about him. And sadly my starfish is melting/very stressed. I added him to my main tank now and I will monitor him but I’m not that hopeful and may have to remove him completely. It sucks because I literally told my Mom what to do and wrote every scenario down. I asked for updates and photos. She told me she forgot about my goby and the starfish was fine I did see a video of him he did look fine but I know he could’ve been better before I left. I think it was a combination of lack of flow, water quality, and acclimation shock. I am hoping he recovers especially because I’m not sure if I can even get another one of him in the near future. I won’t be replacing my goby as I overstocked my tank anyway. I will however be getting another urchin and cleaner shrimp. That’s my little update.

UV will make quick work of a bacteria bloom. I am sorry to hear for your losses. Keep an eye on them and tell your starfish you love it every day and it will be fine. Optimism is key

You'll know if the star is gonna make it within the next 3 days most likely... usually if they start going downhill it's a quick process from when you first notice something's wrong...did you slowly reacclimate him to the main tank when you put him back in?
