Thank you. I haven't lost many fish in ten years of fish keeping and unfortunately all though he was sick i may as well say it was my fault he died.
and all the other fish I have lost were due to my fault. I have never had a fish loss due to illness. All of them have been to my stupidness

There are degrees of "fault" ranging from pure negligence (not your case) to mistakes that happen in the course of trying to do the right thing (maybe your case). Meds in the water often deplete O2, and maybe that is what happened.

On the other hand, you had the fish for 6 years, close to its expected lifespan, and maybe that bacterial infection was a sign that it's immune system was compromised at this point and it was a matter of time anyway.

well over my many years on this earth (69) I’ve gone from not thinking much about thinking animals in my early 20’s to becoming a animal lover ( I was a dog and cat person than too) but didn’t think much about animal abuse than.
but which I find abhorrent now.
so I will do my best to take care of my fish
