Many will be blennies and gobies and the amazing places they find to hide we didnt know existed in the tank.

Just added one of these recently. It stayed hidden in QT but now that it's in the DT it is cruising the tank and has hidey holes all over.

My zebra tang has the best personality out of the fish in my tank. Gets so excited when he sees me washing my hands in the kitchen before I feed. So much so he uses his tail to splash water outside the tank .

This hits different. My tank arrived and I’m upgrading. Today I lost my Foxface Lo. A skittish fish who would occasionally come out to try and cut/sting me. I loved him. He was neurotic though.

My powder blue tang is my champ and I’m hopeful she survives the move. Always swimming and picking at things and annoying me. Love her too.

My copperband is the youngest and newest. I think he/she will be ok but they hide a lot. Great eater of things I don’t want.

My damsel was an adult and a full-grown ******. He died when the tank leaked (which prompted a temporary 125, and the new tank I got today). I miss him.

Saltwater fish are wild. They all have such different personalities and they can differ from fish to fish. I think many of us “reefers” discount the fact that these fish possess an intelligence that goes beyond typical inbred goldfish.

Alternatively I have a freshwater guppies who are idiots and jump into the net….who are just livestock for my African Dwarf Butterfly fish who is smarter than they are but still has now where near the personality of SW fish.

So…my answer is all of them!

I find it so interesting that so many people chose Midas Blenny. I had one that had to be rehomed due to significant aggression issues. This dude would perch on a rock in the center of the tank and terrorize everything that went by. Within a week, several fishes could be seen with bitten tails. He went back to the LFS after about 4 hours of work trying to catch him. Seems I got a rogue!

As @vetteguy53081 states earlier, I see a lot of Blenny, gobies and halkfish. Interesting that all are relatively inexpensive and all perch themselves and watch us a lot of times. All seam to have expression most grumpy LOL

I had a Diamond Goby that I recently lost to carpet surfing while I was cleaning the tank and didn’t realize he was gone until it was too late. He was hilarious and had a great personality. Always out and about, slurping up sand - and not making a mess of the tank. His replacement doesn’t have as much personality. From the second he got in the tank, the Whitetail Bristletooth Tang started to chase him - he’s pretty skittish. As soon as the Tang comes his way, he darts into one of his many caves.

I will say, my Solar Wrasse has a great personality too - always out, really curious and not afraid of anything. If I’m in the tank cleaning, he’s swimming around my hands. On top of that, he’s beautiful - most colorful fish in the tank. I really need to get a clearer picture of him.
