I've been trying to get my fish to eat dry food for a few days now but they just dont seem to want it. i've try alternating feedings between frozen and dry. i've tried soaking the dry food in frozen food with garlic and little water. All they do is pick away at the frozen food and leave the dry food to sink to teh bottom of the tank. Any suggestions on how to get them to eat the dry food?

I wouldn't use any additives but I would try feeding them small amounts of the dry food separate from the frozen. For instance, feed the frozen at 5pm and then add a small pinch of the dry food at 8pm. I found adding the dry food to the return section of my sump works very well to get the fish eating it. They chase it out of the return jets now.

Yea it would be helpful. Some fish are almost impossible..

What I do with some fish is soak their dry food with the frozen for a while so the dry food tastes like the frozen and is really soft.
I do not feed for a while this way they are real hungry and attack the food so fast.. I trick them into eating it..

I keep adjusting the amount of dry food up more and more. Eventually they start to accept dried food.. I also found flake seems to be easier than pellet...

honestly though I feed a little of everything all the time.

I feed mine frozen from a dropper for a couple of days then I’ll swap it up to pellets in the dropper and mine started eating them that way

Have you tried both flakes and pellets? If you have only tried pellets, flakes are worth a shot.

which flake foods would you recommend?

just chromis

My chromis eat anything so it will not be too hard. Start with flake though I do find chromis prefer it and if you go pellet use really small or even the soft pellets at first. I use ME coral small pellet food when trying to get on pellets because they are soft and float a little more.

now some anthias are near impossible to impossible to get onto dry food.

Leave your powerheads on while feeding. Try it. I have had 100% success with some fragile little guys.

My chromis eat anything. When I have to feed pellets, I use Hikari Marine S. But I try to only feed frozen. I know it takes longer and you can’t use food timers but I have streamlined the process. In all honesty, frozen is much healthier if done correctly. Try switching brands of pellet.

i was finally able to get the chromis to at least put the pellet in its mouth. but 1 sec later he spit it back out. LOL i guess at least its progress.
