Fish you have/had kept but wouldnt keep again

Below is my stocking in my tank and the only real ****** is the wrasse and the chromis. They don’t do anything crazy or cruel but I’m trading the chromis and maybe the wrasse back for a comet. Everything else gets along great. But green chromis are little jerks

Line spot wrasse

Orchid dottyback

Long nose butterfly fish

2 clowns

Watchman Goby

Pistol shrimp

4 hermit crabs

Royal gramma basslet

Coral Beauty Angelfish

6 turbo snails

1 black urchin

3 Green Chromis

I only have two clowns currently, so I don't have much input. I do wonder why so many people are saying they wouldn't want another clown.

They get very aggressive when they get a spot they like and go ******* yOu this is my rock lol

I will say of the Clownfish I have owned or cared for (at an LFS) Tomatoes and Maroons can become VERY aggressive. Relentlessly aggressive. I have never had trouble with ocellaris, Clarkii or bicinctus, even in tight quarters (though others have).

I know this is too late for you, @Bleigh , but often I find people set up their tanks and the first fish they add are Clownfish. The reality is they are often aggressive, especially in breeding pairs. It is best to add the more timid fish first so they establish their homes and territories before adding Clowns or other aggressive fish.

At my local LFS they have a pair in a tank and they attack anyone so bad that I’ve seen the workers hands come out bloody because hit the side or the hand of the worker so hard

I love my clowns but tomatoes are evil

Is the wrasse a flasher wrasse?

That’s crazy! I feed mine by hand, so they like to nip at me when I put my hands in, but only cause they’re like, “where’s the food hooman???”

My fangblenny ycg and clownfish all do that lol, very cute cause its just a nibble bite lol

Agreed. Everytime I see a vendor site claiming Ocellaris Clowns are peaceful, I am sorely tempted to set them straight. All clowns are territorial/aggressive to some degree and more so once they get their set turf.

Spotted - started out great and then became a terror. Spent $40 for a fish trap and caught him in five minutes!
Thats unfortunate. If you like the look of hawkfish and want somthing peaceful you should look into the geometric pygmy perchlet, i absolutely love mine and he is stunning and very comical

Poma Angelfish was by far the peskiest fish I’ve ever owned. No matter how big or small he would constantly beat other fish up for no reason. Kept him well fed with tons of live rock but it made no difference. Never again but who knows maybe it was just his personality but nonetheless never again.
