Hi, I have a 75 gallon tank(48in wide 20in tall and 18 inches deep). I was wondering if you could help me find a suitable community. I was also wondering if fish grow to the size of the tank. The fish that i was looking at are below, and the length I would buy them and then their max length.

1x Humu Picaso Triggerfish-but them at 1" max is 10"
1x yellow tang-buy them at 1"- max is 8"
1x Harlequin tuskfih-but them at 1-1.5"-max is 9"
2x Flame angelfish-but them at 0.5"-max is 3"
2x Firefish-buy them at 0.5-1"-max is 3"

Those are the fish that I am looking at. Could they possibly work? And if they don't work, how many years will I have until they grow too big for my tank. Thank for the help.

That's a pretty rowdy big eating selection of fish . Even at small size . Maybe 1 flame angel & fire fish ( I'm not familiar with this fish) . Do You want to keep corals as well?
Let's see what others say.

Your tank is too small for all but the angel and firefish

Thank for the help @cracker I don't want corals that much. Any other fish that you think would be pretty and colorful in the tank?

Not exact fish and I just listed the juvenile sizes in this one. And why do you care? @DSC reef if your so against this list why don't you give me some options.

I'm not against it, just said that won't work. I answered your question that you asked. You've got advice before as well in your previous thread. Up to you to take that advice. Out of your list I'd keep the tang and a fire fish with one flame. Happy reefing.

There are a whole lot of smaller very cool fish perfect for a 75. Add bigger tank to your future wish list . That always works !

Yep. I'm now thinking of 1 of 2 yellow tangs (I've heard they are better in pairs), some electric blue damsels, fire fish, and small angelfish. @cracker

I’ve never heard anyone say that tangs are better in pairs. In fact, they often end up killing each other when not kept in a very large system. IMO a 75G is still too small for a yellow tang. 4 feet is not enough swimming space for a full grown tang, and it’s pushing it for the small ones like koles as well.

Aren't fire fish timid? If so the damsel might bully it. Maybe do damsels as they are nice colorful and active fish. Or some chromis--they school nicely and there are several color choices, including some lemon ones. If not into corals, def. one of the angel fish, not sure 2 would get along or if they are too timid for angels. Maybe? Gobies and blennies are nice and could look nice in that tank and I love the flash and color of groups of anthias or wrasses.

I understand the lure of Tangs. You could try 1 yellow OR 1 kole tang if you have a "future home" ready (lots of people do) but beware that if they stress, they get ick. I had a small kole in my 66 gal (only 37 inches) and he did great but I had a home for him when he got too big. But marine velvet came in and wiped out almost everyone. He did have issues with ick as well.

I'm setting up a 125 and can barely have a couple tangs in a 6 footer. Without the color and interest of a lot of corals, find fish for flash and have 1 or 2 schooling groups of 3-5 Good luck!

If you want several colorful fish, look into fairy and flasher wrasses.
Good thread about reef safe wrasses here:https://www.reef2reef.com/ams/all-about-reef-safe-wrasses-in-aquaria.28/
That article also includes a link to a compatibily chart for mixing fairy wrasses.
You could have several different wrasses in a 75g and they will provide plenty of movement and color. Trick with them is ony add one male of each species, and pay attention to the compatibility chart. Oh, and make sure you have the tank completely covered.

You could still do the tang and probably an angelfish, but I would add the wrasses before more assertive fish .

Royal Gramma is a beautiful fish with and awesome personality. One of these would work well for a 75. A bit timid in the beginning, but will eventually warm up to its surroundings

Not trying to be rude but with your other thread and the way your answering questions I don't think your actually being serious. It seems like your trying to get a reaction out of members with no intentions of even having a tank.

I have tank(75g) right now. In 2 days, I will put cheap fish in it to see if they live, then two more days after that I will start putting fish in.I'm sorry if it seems like I have been trying to get reactions out of people. I'm not. @DSC reef

Thank you. I have got pretty solid information about cans and can't with fish. I have a pretty solid image in my mind of what I am getting thanks to all the information. One last thing, do you need a quarantine tank?

It's always a good idea to quarantine fish. I'd look up some threads about quarantine and procedures. Humblefish has great threads on that subject. Start a build thread too, it's fun to document your build and we all love pics.
