I am looking to setup a 47 gallon lagoon tank here in a month or so, I already have a black angler (likely antennarius sp.) looking for good tank mates, I want to do sort of a predator reef tank if possible in the tank size I have but am also open to other style tanks just want reef safe and not to get eaten by my frog fish he is still a baby but will obviously grow

There aren’t really any fish that would be a good fit in a tank that small and also compatible with a frog fish. They’ll eat anything that’s even just a little smaller, meaning only bigger fish like large angels, foxfaces, butterflyfish, etc. would work long term. Those all need a bigger tank.

Could I do a species only with multiple frog fish, I would like one of the calico colored warty frog fish or the sargassum

I know I have seen people keep several frog fish together. Not sure about the lionfish.

Thanks for the advice, gonna do more research about the lion fish. I heard you could with maybe a fuzzy but wanted to verify
