Have been into this hobby since 10years, recently iv started qt new fishes, but they keep dying in qt. When they arrive, they are healthy and happily acceptin food, but after just 1 week they start getting red gills and die. All i add is cupramine as suggested by seachem, and prazipro (its over now).

I guess im killing more fishes by quarantining new fishes instead of jus adding them directly. Its frustrating.

This sounds like ammonia poisoning. It's a common issue in quarantine, and is to blame for most qt related deaths.

Then, people dose prime or amquel in conjunction with meds like copper and that is number two in qt related deaths. Large water changes are what you need to do in this case. Invest in an ammonia alert badge by seachem, too. Many kits show false positives when using copper.

I have treated fishes in qt when sick. No deaths ever occured unless the fish was really sick.

Does the inside of the mouth also turn red??
