So, I am literally sitting on my sofa reading R2R threads and my yellow corris wrasse decides he wants to commit fishicide right in front of me. I hear a small thump by the tank and my cat is immediately at the side of the tank. My wife says "What was that?" I jump up, look, and find this poor fish laying on the floor with my killer cat leering at him saying wow this is my day . I quickly grab the fish and toss him back in to where he is safe. He, of corse, disappears. A few minutes later he is back out and swimming no worse for wear.

This has happened twice before with my lubbocoks wrasse and he cheated death twice because I was there twice to save his little but. He is still with me too.

To top it all off all of these escape or fishicide tries were all done with covers in place. I guess my netting is too large.

Anything wider than 1/4" is too wide. They are amazing at fitting through the smallest openings.

Holy cow - Nice follow-up stories. I knew I wasn't the only one.

Lionfish Lair - My gosh that must have been some party!

I had a large Hippo Tang jump out of my old 200 while I was standing in front of the tank and he fell at my feet. Lucky day for him, because he went right back in. The only time he ever did that.

If you are using that bird netting mesh, it is too large. I tried that a long time ago and found one of my wrasses dried up on top of the mesh. 1/4" is the way to go.

I lost a blue stripe cleaner goby yesterday. I was doing tank maintenance and he decided to jump when I wasent looking. Since he was so small I didn't notice until I was cleaning under my tank stand and saw his body :(
