I wanna stock my tank with at least 1 ocellaris clown, and maybe a firefish. Was wondering the best types of food to feed them both...both frozen and nonfrozen. do flakes or pellets work better? garlic or no garlic?

I did some research and found these foods, would they work?

A variety of food should always be provided, Flakes, pellets, and frozen. Garlic isn’t needed but shouldn’t be used every feeding

Well if you want to enhance the color of your clownfish, I'd recommend anything with astaxanthin and or carotene high up on the ingredients list. These two things really bring out and enhance their orange pigments and make them a really nice deep orange/redish. I use TDO and after around 7-8 months of feeding them it, you can really see a difference in their color. They pop bright orange to a reddish now and they look awesome. I would suggest TDO for at least one of their foods that you feed them, it will give them very nice coloring.

I would also go TDO if you must feed pellets. Pellets and flakes are high in N and P and you usually end up over feeding and get a ton of algae. A variety of frozen foods are much better for your fish and a bit easier on the N and P. The best would be live foods like they eat in the wild.

Sorry for being a noob, but what is TDO?

TDO (chroma boost) is the name of a fish food brand, if you search tdo fish food in google it should be the first result, the website is called reefnutrition.com
