ive been trying to do a fish less cycling by adding a piece of shrimp that I got from the grocery store. At first I did food, wrong, this tank has been cycling for over a month. So last week I added the shrimp (1/2 in or less) ut my question is when do I take it out to I remove it when it's gone, when my numbers reach 0 all the way around? Or just pull the piece and LE whatever floating around. Also should I do a water change during this time?
Thanks

I put my piece of shrimp in for three or four days so I could get ammonia levels to show up on my test kit. After that waited for nitrites to spike then fall to zero by then you should have some nitrates which then you could do a water change.
