Hello reefers,

I have a question please, How long should I keep my tank fishless if I observe a Brooklynella and lost some fishes.
and How can I check if the tank is clean to go again?

Thanks in advance!

Thanks for your reply, I've checked this post before and saw the stated fishless period BUT in other sources I've read that it may only take 20-30 days not 6 weeks as may find in the post you shared with me, this is why I would like to double-check.

Unless you can source the 20-30 day fallow for brook I wouldn’t trust it. 6 weeks has been the norm for Brook. I would trust Humblefishs advise and go 6 weeks. If not your playing russian roulette.

I see, fair enough, Thank you :)
Do you have any idea how can I check the tank before adding any fishes after 6 weeks or no need?

No need to be honest just go fallow and nothing short of 6 weeks. I know it’s hard staring at an empty tank but it’s for the best for a heathy environment!

Merry Christmas!

You could consider doing the "Black Molly Test".

Just to be fair, the fish should be treated as any other fish if it does show the parasite.

I saw the post, I'll go fallow even more than 6 weeks, just to be sure and then let's see about the black molly.
Thank you :)

Thank you for sharing Humblefish Brooklynella. It saved my fish! I lost all my stock except one clownfish. Did formalin treatment from syndel, and left my DT fallow for will be 8 weeks on Aug. 28th. Will be reintroducing the one clownfish (male), a new female clown and royal gramma that have all been in quarentine! Will never add another fish unless quarentined first!
