Our HOA insists we cut it, despite it still being dormant. At least it knocks the weeds back.

Bermuda grass, but I’m going overseed with fescue or another cool season type and get a bit more green in the cooler months. I don’t mind the extra maintenance if we can keep it from looking so crunchy for an extra few months. We literally have a 5 month green season with the Bermuda, which is just silly

Ah. I know nothing about Bermuda but don’t you have to scalp it when it comes dormant? I maybe wrong because I’ve never had to care for Bermuda. I’m fescue and Kentucky blue

Toro time cutter ss4200 vs cub cadet zt1 ? I know they are bottom end, but Home Depot have them and I see them all over the estate... plus it’ll take 4 years to amortize that cost with our local guy doing $50/ cut, but he’s a “I’ll make it 1 time in 3” kinda guy. If it lasts > 4 years, we are well ahead

That cub cadet looks like a beast. Much larger engine and a larger deck. Can’t go wrong with either one, though in my opinion.

New store for me- run at 1.020 so I needed to adjust down a bit, plus they run cupramine at 0.5. “For the angels”... not sure what that means.

She’s currently in Copper Power at 0.75 ppm, since I had to remove some of the premise water to adjust the salinity. Going to start a 4 day ramp up to 1.75 tomorrow.

Tell you what though- since the Hawaii ban, price on YTs has jumped up..,

Heater failure on the shrimp QT put the water at 87oF before I noticed it. Thermostat doesn’t shut it off

I moved my inkbird controller to that tank, so at least it’ll get heat overnight (basement temps are 67 overnight right now) and the purple tang QT heater has been set to 77oF — best QT heater I have- newest, cleanest etc.— but now it’s on its own thermostat.

Now I’m going to be paranoid until my 2 new inkbirds and new heater shows up on Saturday. I knew I should have just bought an inkbird for each heater.

Yeah, I don’t get it. It was stable all night, and this morning before I took the trip it was right on 77oF. Only thing I can think is that I had to replace some volume to lower the salinity a point and a half, heater kicked on since I used RODI at 66oF, and it stuck the thermistor.

I can’t really defend the decision to put the PT at potential risk, other than this is the first red striped pistol I’ve seen around here, and a replacement would be > $80 with shipping. That’s about the same as I paid for the PT with HLLE (receded maybe 60%, btw)

I need to clear out my QT queue, but I like the punishment I guess...

Absolutely.

Not sure what the solution is other then multiple failsafes and warnings, or building little enclosures around each tank and heating the inside. Heat the environment and not the water directly.

Or I run heat to my entire basement and just go total overkill .

Nori!! So happy

She’s currently in copper at 0.8ppm, so I added another dose to get up to 1ppm for the morning. Dosing up to 1.125 tonight. She’ll be at therapeutic 1.75ppm after her dose on Sunday morning.

Also, curious thing. Monkey see, monkey do... PT took a nibble of Nori and some mysis this morning too. They are in different tanks, not even next to each other. Doubt related but happy coincidence. He has 4 more days in copper power for a 14 day total. Out Monday evening. Saturday evening I’m dosing his third Prazipro (second since I saw the black spot on the previous YT) then he gets moved to his own 10g so I can sterilize the 20long.

My 2.5 year old went down to sleep at her regular bedtime for the first time with mom out of the house. Normally she pushes it and I let her crash on the couch and carry her up, but last night it was regular schedule. Small victory.

The 8 month old decided last night was when she was going to get a growth spurt and start the teething process. Up every 2 hours for a feeding. All through the night, then fell asleep in the car seat in the way to daycare. I just called and she’s still sleeping 2 hours later, so I guess she isn’t hungry...
