Fishroom Reality Check

If I’d known it was going to be unavailable, I would have stocked up. By far my favorite.

So, 5 hours of rinsing and it still wasn’t running clear. I’ll take care of the rest by packing my media reactors with floss and running those in the DT, along with my aquaclear 100.

This is 3 bags of seaflor special grade. Still have 2 bags Fiji pink, but think that might be overkill. Might put 1 bag over the top and see if I can sell the second bag

I’m going to run some rodi tomorrow and get the fill started!

Not as white as I’d hoped, but looks good.

And this guy enjoyed the vitamins in whatever was being washed out...

Thanks man- appreciate it.

Think I should keep the yellow spade? My 2 year old loved it being in there.

Now I’ve added sand, I’m seeing all these extra nooks and channels etc that I couldn’t visualize before. I’m loving the scape more every time I explore it.

Thoughts on adding some seachem clarity to remove the last of the sediment? I can add it then run my aqua clear hob overnight.

This is getting exciting man! I can’t wait to get to where you are. You did a fantastic job framing that in the wall man!

It was a process, I’ll tell you that. I’m getting a couple hairline cracks in the drywall mud at the joints, but I’m going to do some flexible wood filler and repaint the whole wall to finish it once I’ve silicone caulked around the frame/glass joint.

You can see the gap I want to cover- about 1/4 inch but caulk should do it. Won’t see any of the black frame from the living room side.

Magical disappearing plumbing...

Rim on the 180 means the aquaclear hob doesn’t work right. So I’m using my brs dual reactor and a bunch of fluval polishing pads. Added 40ml of seachem clarity, let it circulate for 15 mins then hooked up the reactor

That’s some murky gross looking water.

Update on the morning- hope this works!

Yeah, so, I guess my polishing pads clogged too quickly, so I’m still looking at a yellow tank. Going to run the skimmer today, and put an order in for some felt drawstring socks. Hoping that’ll work.

I did put the sediment filter from the rodi in the media reactor, but I guess the lids are s little different- I think the water is bypassing the filter and it’s not doing anything.

Thoughts on starting the cycle before I clear up the water? The seachem clarity is a charged flocculating agent, and I’m concerned it’ll bind to the biospira before they have a chance to colonize.

my friends nano had the same yellow look to it after seachem clarity fwiw

Think I need to fast track my return solution. Was going to wait until after the cycle but this is a little much

It’s clearing up. I filled everything and have flow going to the sump. I tore open a crappy cushion and packed my reactors with filter floss and have it plumbed in its location and it’s working awesomely
