Yellow tangs are so pretty. What will you name this guy?

I did that video to get as little if the two tangs in shot as I could... YTs are just so distinctive though.

Purple has a bit of HLLE but he’ll pull through in s few days then I can start QT proper

Super temporary set up, lol. I have some major home projects to do this week, but as soon as this culture is ready, I’ll be scaling up and getting the phyto-pod farm bench fully kitted up

The PT has some HLLE which *may* be receding, and I don’t plan to start copper until he’s pretty much healed . No aggression as of yet in the 20long, but they sure have the Zoomies!!

Pinky the pink spotted goby is looking great. His mouth infection isn’t 100% gone, but he’s been in furan2, met and kanaplex for 10 days at this point. He’s previously been through Ruby reef rally, chloroquine phosphate, general cure and prazipro.

. I don’t have any furan2 left (each box is a 10-day course [emoji54]) but I could keep the kanaplex and met going for 4 more days. Or I could graduate to DT today

Eating great, very active. No sign of a bacterial infection other than a little pink blemish on the lower right lip. Very much improved compared to a week ago

Thoughts?

Does your LFS carry Furan2? I’d be a little apprehensive about putting him in the DT. Do you have NFG (nitrofuracin green)?

Each packet of Furan 2 is 85mg nitrofurazone.

Nitrifuracin green is a mix of nitrofurazone, salt, methylene blue and sulfathiozole sodium.

I’m going to dose NFG+ kanaplex + met

So, I had 150 ml of 7 day old Nannochloropsis culture. Poured 120ml into a clean culture vessel (smart water bottle, lol) topped it up to 500ml with 1.019 saltwater and added 250ul of Guillards F/2 fertilizer 2ml/4l) . For a ~ 1:4 culture ‘split’.

Given the past growth rate, this *should* be ready to split again in 7-8 days. At that point, I’m going to 1:4 split 300ml, and seed my Pod tank with the other 200ml.

The 30ml remainder of this first culture got poured into a jar and I added the small bottle of surviving Pods. That’ll feed them just enough for the week until I get the tank set up.

Takes me back to my days splitting and culturing genetically engineered cancer cells...
