My water level is a touch high, I’d rather it be 1/2” lower so there’s barely a trickle coming down, but as it is there isn’t a whole lot coming down anyway.

Hope that helps.

Thanks, that does help! My biggest concern is where to set the trickle drain, so that helps quite a bit. I'm going to put the full syphon as low as possible and will try to match around where you put the emergency drain.

There was a comment in the paperwork he sent saying that the bulkheads needed to be turned upside in the box. It looks like you left yours with the long end in the box. I won't have that frustration since I did flip mine.

I was also expecting them to be slip/thread but mine are slip/slip. The threads were supposed to be for the external plumbing so you could unscrew them and reuse the bulkheads if needed. I think I prefer the slip slip.

Man- I don’t recall any paperwork in my box. That would make so much sense, lol. I added unions on the outside. It’s working the way I’ve got it, so Im going to leave it.

I had to dig down 36 peanuts and search 294 peanuts to the right to find my paperwork. :p

As long as it's working for you, that is the important part. I have unions on my synergy and I picked up new unions so I can reuse the bottom half of that plumbing. Unions are the way to go for an installation like this. My only concern is getting the 2 union halves to line up on the full siphon drain. The other parts have flex tubing so an exact fit doesn't matter.

That’s exactly how I did it too. Since the hole centers are exactly the same on the two boxes, it just plugged right in.

Lol, I can’t brlieve I didn’t click that the bulkheads needed flipped. I just took it out the box and went straight to install, I was that excited

I can't blame you. I almost started installing it tonight. I'm beyond ready for that Synergy and the trickling noise to go away.....

Tomorrow night, you’ll have a few of those ‘bolt upright’ moments in bed wondering why your tank has stopped flowing, lol

My tank is across the house from the bedroom so I can't hear it from there now. I'm really excited to double the flow through my sump and still be able to be in the same room as my reef.

Yeah- my tank is 40 feet lateral and a floor down from my bedroom and we could still hear it with 2 sets of doors closed.

The EMS has literally transformed our reefing experience

Glad to hear your first H2O2 experience went well, and appears to have helped too.
Upon reading Humble's mod TTM thread, it lead me to a Masa thread in which I read about the site owner (or maybe it was a member?) curing a clown with Brook with dipping.
I thought about this when you mentioned some bits soughing off 1 of your new dudes.
Just one of those hmmm moments ...

Masa?

Yeah- I would normally do a ruby reef rally or freshwater dip upon receipt, but I didn’t want to ‘muddy the waters’ with the new protocol and add a variable that could complicate troubleshooting. Saying that, if he was as bad yesterday morning as he was this morning, I would have freshwater dipped him yesterday and continued from there.

Either way- very big improvement just from the 1 treatment, so hoping it’s smooth sailing from here on out

Masa peroxide thread which Humble linked
Marine Aquarium Societies of Australia
From 2010 - funny how we are only just thinking about doing this now, nearly 10 years later

BTW, did you try a peroxide dip before adding them to the QT?
This is one thing I will definately do on my next batch of critters.
Interesting

No- no dip prior to QT. I would normally do ruby reef rally but didn’t want to add a variable in case the hybrid ttm went bad and I needed to trouble shoot. Observation of the fish over the first 24 hours didn’t give any cause for concern. It was really only day 2 where the wrasse looked like it was shy and trying to hide.

That's where I'm considering a pre-QT peroxide dip, in case something needs to be removed right from the LFS.
Hiding can be a sign of light sensitivity due to Velvet.

I bought a trio of very attractive male flashers last year and never got them past 3 days in QT. No idea what wiped them out as they had no outward signs.
We in Canada no longer have access to most meds thanks to our government blocking imports, so it's difficult to have anything on hand for a QT.

Quick note:

Noticed ANOTHER little baby Duncan nubbin starting to grow.

One weird thing- the gsp I fragged and glued down on the rock- one of the patches hasn’t extended polyps in 3 days. The other 5 patches are extending great. For some reason I figured if one was unhappy, they would all be unhappy. Weird to think each little patch now has its own little personality, lol
