Hi!

Recently purchased a house which will allow me to have a fishroom connected to the tank and need some ideas.

I run a red sea reefer 625XXL and will run pipes through a wall to the room beside it. To my disposal i have the original sump

A larger container about 600 litres

And my current fragtank thats about 30x23x13 inches.

What im currently contemplating is how to run the system between all of these.

I can think of afew ways to connect and circulate water in it.

Option #1 - Just make it a serie, reefer overflows to container overflows to fragtank overflow into sump and returns to reefer

Option #2 - Make every individual component circulate water by them self. 3 pumps, 1 for fragtank, 1 for display 1 for container

Option #3 - One line to reefer from sump and one line to container which overflow to fragtank (or vise verse) into sump.

Any ideas and tips on this is much appreciated. It will be a progress to get all this going and im in no rush. Also any tips to what i could do with the 600 litre container room is appreciated. I currently just incorperate it for extra volume. But im guessing it could be used to so much more

I like option three, as it will be easier keeping all your parameters in one system . I would however I would run a appropriate size UV light in line .

There will be a UV on the returnline for the reefer no mather what :)

Not sure what you mean by all in one system, Everything will go into one system, just different ways of moving water through it.

Pick number three me lord! (sorry i have lots of kids who are Shrek fans)

I would also consider your flooring in the fish room, as well as ventilation. Having a good exhaust will stop mildew and various other humidity related issues. Since you're starting with a clean slate already. Perhaps even epoxy paint on the walls. It looks the same but is impervious.

Its already painted :) Gonna install a humidity fan for the room on the ventilation thats already there. In Sweden we usually have ventilation in most room with a shaft. So that will get replaced with a bathroom humidity activated fan =)

So we got two votes for #3 which i think is a pretty solid solution aswell. Still no idea what i wanto place in the 600 litre container haha. 200 kilos of LR? Huge fuge? 50/50?

If you are a fan of refugium, it is a solid way to go. And if you are planning on doing a nsa style aqua scape, you may need the extra biofiltration from the rock. Great pod breading grounds!

Guess its possible to divide the space abit. Its about 48x40 inches in footprint after all :)

Whether it is with plumbing, utility pumps, or something else, consider how you will be able to take an individual element offline and still keep the other parts going.

Have you considering options for a water mixing station?

That will be concidered when plumbing using valves :)

I will have one, not in the fish room but in another storage room with water more accessable. And ill just have a long hose to get it to the tank
