I am upgrading my fish room in my basement. Three walls are cinderblock that I have painted with a marine paint. The fourth wall is the backside of Sheetrock with the wall studs exposed. The sump will be on a bench against this wall. There is pretty good ventilation in the room, but I want to protect this wall as well as mount gear to it.
My plan is to add some 1x6 boards between the studs to allow for mounting equipment and then put up a moisture barrier wall.

so, my question is what ist be recommended type of board? GOBOARD? Or some other options?

I used 4x8 sheets of T-11 siding. It is heavy enough to hold screws to mount things too.

I'd say use plywood and cover it in FRP. Plenty of strength to mount anything to it and FRP will offer full protection from moisture. You'll have to use mastic adhesive to glue FRP to the plywood.
