Updates!

Met with the builder of my future home. There may be some issues to work out regarding leaving a big hole in the living room wall or putting one in the wall because the property has a 10 year structural warranty and we don't want to void that. Im still planning the fish room and 250 build, it just might look different than I thought...

@cmiller5617 has had her tank up and going for a minute. Here is the latest scoop...

Some of the hitchhikers on the live rock are doing really well. There were 2 bleached out bubble tip anemones in the rock that we call Bub and Bub Jr. They have grown and actively feed now. Bub is the larger one, about 2 inches across. Was a little bigger than a quarter when we found him. Bub Jr is about the size of a quarter across now. Was much more like dime size to begin with. There are also the kenya tree, clove polyps, and a mushroom doing great.

I decided to add a couple more frags. Got a nice neon green candy cane, incredible hulk variety, and a very small tyree green polyp toadstool.

Final update, we have a new pair of clowns in QT since the last ones didn't make it. 2 very pretty black Onyx Picasso clowns.

I meet with the builders of my house in 1 week. I wonder if they have ever had anyone do a "fishroom" before. And i wonder if they are going to find it strange when i ask them to leave a big hole in the living room wall.... im so excited. I dont care about counter tops, carpet choices, fancy molding... the one room in the house i truly care about is the fish room.

We're potentially starting a new build soon...and I'm wondering the same thing. Probably get it framed so I can remove a section of drywall and have the opening for the size tank I'll be getting down the road. What did you end up deciding?

Builder said they could accommodate without voiding the structural warranty as long as they do the work. Im sure they will charge a ton more to do it but worth it when a 10 yr structural warranty is on the line. I will have them put the opening in and drywall frame it. I will give myself roughly 1 inch top and sides extra that can be hidden with some well placed trim. So until there is a tank in it, everyone will be asking... why is there a hole in your wall? just need to finalize the contract with the builder and get it done.

Rode west the next day to get this beauty. It has an amazing blue oral disc with white lines. Ive never seen one like it.

Time to update, this is my 999th and 1000th posts. Its going to be picture heavy. Both QTs have been going for a while now. Clownfish are out of QT and in the display. In QT there is Toby the blue spot puffer that has 13 days left, and then Wonka the coral Beauty Angel, Not Dory the yellowtail Damsel, and spaz the six lined wrasse that have 22 days left in QT.

DT is looking great. There are the 4 bubble tip anemones, a large carpet anemone, and a bunch of coral frags. Aqua scape had to be redone just a little to accommodate everyone. And many are still acclimating in the sand.
