I meet with the builders of my house in 1 week. I wonder if they have ever had anyone do a "fishroom" before. And i wonder if they are going to find it strange when i ask them to leave a big hole in the living room wall.... im so excited. I dont care about counter tops, carpet choices, fancy molding... the one room in the house i truly care about is the fish room.![]()
Builder said they could accommodate without voiding the structural warranty as long as they do the work. Im sure they will charge a ton more to do it but worth it when a 10 yr structural warranty is on the line. I will have them put the opening in and drywall frame it. I will give myself roughly 1 inch top and sides extra that can be hidden with some well placed trim. So until there is a tank in it, everyone will be asking... why is there a hole in your wall? We're potentially starting a new build soon...and I'm wondering the same thing. Probably get it framed so I can remove a section of drywall and have the opening for the size tank I'll be getting down the road. What did you end up deciding?
just need to finalize the contract with the builder and get it done.
Thank you @fishguy242 QT seems to take forever when the fish are the first of a new build....nice ..love the clowns!!!![]()
