Fitting a varios 2s to a sro xps 2000ext

So I have a varios 2s and would like to hook it up to this skimmer I have to replace the hy2000s it has on it. Emailed and was told I needed a new Venturi elbow and it would work. Got the new elbow in and it is literally the same exact elbow as the one already in the skimmer. The problem is the union that goes onto the inlet volute off the pumps. The union on the output side fits no issues at all but the union on the inter side is too big for the varios volute, and too small if I put the adapter that the pump came with. I will rig something if I have to, but I don’t mind buying the right part of I can just figure out what that part is..........lol
