So true. All of those are good ideas.

I used to be guilty of not paying attention to the environment at all and just buying what was cool. After I lost some fish, I grew a heart. It literally makes me lose sleep now if a fish dies...but hasn't happened in a while because I buy aquacultured or extremely hardy and fish that aren't even close to being rare (lionfish).

I really don't think there is any point in buying wild coral anymore either. Sure, frags are small, but they grow if you know what you're doing...and if you don't know what you're doing, it's better to kill a aquacultured frag over a colony that was taken from the wild and was home to hundreds-thousands of organisms.
