Does anybody know how to fix a tank leak? Would I be better off
taking it somewhere to be done and if so can anyone recommend
a good place?

Its a seam leak. I've read that its a better idea to remove all of the silicone from the whole tank and re seal it.
Just wanted to get a few thoughts on this. Could someone move this to the general forum?

From a past experiance with a leaky tank it can be repaired if you can get the seam apart slightly and clean all the old Silicone out from the joint. Then once you have cleaned it you can redo the seal with new aquarium grade silicone and this IMO the important part is to clamp the seams back together and let it dry for at least 48hrs before trying to reuse the tank. When i did this on an old 150 it lasted many years after the repair and is still in use as far as i know with frehshwater fish.
