I have a vertex IN-100 and dropped the lid and broke off the clear ring off the top. What would be best to reattach it? The top is black plastic and the ring itself is acrylic, i think. I have super glue gel, Permatex CLear RTV Silicone Adhesive Sealant made by loctite and bathroom caulk.

Home depot sells this product, too. Any other suggestions?

I would assume that weld-on would be best. any change that the ring and lid are acrylic?

pretty sure that at least the ring is acrylic, not sure of the black top. Looks like weld on, it is, wish they sold it locally, only looks to be available online. Thanks for the replies...

Weldon would work best but even super glue gel would work fine, its just not as pretty.

i don't care how it looks, just that it doesn't contaminate the tank. It's pretty much hidden under the lid anyways, so it is never seen...

If you do a google search for a plastic in your area you most likely will find a shop that sells acrylic. Nearly every plastic shop will carry weld-on that you can purchase from them.

Just be sure if you get the real thin weld-on you get the needle applicator. I probably just get the slightly thicker type though, especially if the break is not clean.

actually, it's not really a break, just where it was "glued" before, came apart when I dropped it, so the seams are real clean...
