Flakes VS pellets

Which do you prefer and why?

doesn't matter what I prefer, its what my fish want. I find picky eaters take to flakes better, however often auto feeders work better with pellets.

Well what I’m ultimately trying to find out is which one do you find fish prefer and why. I probably could have worded it better.

Pellets =more nutritiously dense than flake? better ability to absorb and hold vitamin supplements (zoe, selcon etc etc) Have better luck with fish actually eating pellets vs spitting out pieces of flake, esp anthias.

In my experience larger fish prefer the pellets and smaller prefer the flakes. Mysis beats all though

Almost every fish in my mixed reef will eat the flakes, but the pellets are a little easier to control, and not go down the overflow. I only feed either, about 3 days a week. The other 4 days are LRS, brine, or mysis.

I use both as well as frozen. I feed several times a day and just depends what jar I grab off the top of the tank(Pellets/Flakes).

I only use algae flakes, otherwise pellets, frozen, brine, mysis, or anything else needed.

I only feed pellets to the tank at night for the pods and stuff. Fish get frozen.

Here is what a rep with Hikari recently told me at an expo. Due to how flakes are made there will always be more fillers (starch, etc) in flakes then in pellets. Therefore pellets are more nutrient dense and digest a lot better.
