For those who kept these fish, what are your guy's experience with them?

Thanks and Happy Reefing

1) They are hit and miss each fish is different
2) Depends on how much they like your food and how full you keep them
3) Luck

You can literally have a flame that eats coral trade it in on another flame and end up with one that doesn't.

My flame angel died :( However, when it was alive it didn't pick any of my corals.

Yes, I know. But I buy from DD a lot so I cant really trade a fish. I'm using this poll so that as long as the bottom 2 options consist of 60-70 percent of the votes, I believe it is a risk worth taking.

If you truly want the best odds without being able to trade in, buy a small tank raised flame angel that has never tasted a coral and keep it full with plenty of rock work to pick at.
They always want that taste though!

I love my flame angel, he swims around all day long, eating whatever he likes. He does nip a little but except red zoas the rest of the corals are good. I know they are a hit or miss but I am extremely happy with mine.

I have a full tank of angels and they all nip on SPS here and there but don't do any real damage. The downside is I don't see polyp at all and it might have slowed down the growth a bit. But I don't care. Angelfish themselves are colorful in a wonderful way.

In my experience you can expect the Flame Angel to nip corals - probably will shut down PE, might slow down growth, probably won’t wipeout your corals (but certainly might). That’s been my experience with them.

I bought a “Trio” of Flame Cardinals from DD. They aren’t a trio and from what I read later, this species doesn’t form groups like this nature. I’m not a fan of Flame Cardinals. They’re at least a little aggressive so, to me, not worth their trouble given their appearance. I would go with a peaceful type of cardinal instead in the future unless you have a somewhat rowdy group of fish your adding them to.
