Hi,
I had a healthy flame angel for several months. I have introduced a coral beauty and he wash chasing her so I gave him time out in a separation box for two days. The second day I have started to see a white spot on him glowing on blue light. So I let him out. He is not chasing the coral beauty any more but it's shy and not eating it's been two days. He was always out and around. Do you think it's injury or parasite? Or he doesn't trust me anymore I caught him with the trap and he was always the first one in it.

Fish is a little distant in the pics but may be post injury . A couple closer pics under same lighting will be helpful. Keep an eye on for healing and not becoming infected until you can post closer pics

Hi,
Here are some more pics. I think the gills have white in them is that infection? He is not eating yet but swimming around.

I hate to break it to you, but this looks like uronema. Usually, if the fish has a wound like that, it is not going to make it. Uronema has no fallow period and will always exist in the tank. Uronema is something you NEVER want in your DT. Your options are to either take down the tank and sanitize it or stop keeping uronema prone fish. (assuming this is uronema)

It could also be some sort of injury, but judging bu the verticle nature of it as well as the fact thats its on its side, its not looking good.

If it was uronema wouldn't it kill it in 24 hrs?

A fish will hold uronema in its system without showing symptoms for up to a week. One it breaks the skin it has less than a week. But Im not 100% sure that itss uronema because youve had it for months. It could be introduced by the coral beauty and the coral beauty is a bit more resistant.

Looks like a post injury opposed to uronema which is oval and ciliated which causes tissue necrosis. If you are seeing raised scales,, this may change from injury to infection as a cause.

Yes I think they are puffing out. What should I be doing next? Im actually doing a cipro treatment for my corals RTN. Would that help?

I dont condone cipro for use of anything other than human use while it has helped others with coral and mainly anemone issues.
In whole you will want to get Quick Cure which few are finding this product. If none, then Ruby rally Pro which is reef safe and slow to work with this at times. Chloroquine Phosphate will also work but must be used precisely. Uronema is not an obligate parasite, and can thrive on bacteria, uneaten food, and waste so besides treatment also maintain a clean tank removing waste daily.
Best treatment choice is a 45 min formalin based bath using Quick Cure or ruby rally Pro then finished in a quarantine tank. Once in QT tank, treat and assure that the parasites have been eliminated.
