Flame Angel disappeared?

I bought a tiny flame angel ( less than an inch) for my 40G a few weeks ago and he was perfectly fine, not aggressive and was eating. I had a velvet outbreak a few days ago. He contracted velvet as well, but it wasn’t impacting him yet, just a few very faint spots on his fins, so I wanted to freshwater dip him to help him get through it while the tank was being treated. He kept hiding inside the crevices of a cave decoration so I couldn’t get him out and decided to just medicate the tank. I haven’t seen him since Friday morning (the decoration is very hard to see inside the crevices), he hasn’t come out yet and is nowhere else in my rather bare tank. Should I just trust that he’s been hiding ever since? He usually swims in and out of the cave thing, I have not owned a dwarf angel before so I’m worried

Unfortunately he might be gone but also might not be gone, if your levels spike (nitrates and phos) you'll know wether he died or not. Sorry to hear about the velvet outbreak hope all your other fish make it through

As in check its efficiency or just see if he is there? I did not see anything if you mean the latter

I would take out the cave and whatever until you find him. I would not want to treat the whole tank if he was the only fish and already dead.

Hallelujah! I fed them this morning and within a few minutes my flame angel finally emerged! Thank you all for the advice
