I've had a flame angel in my tank for about 6months now. He's been fine with his tank mates, two clown fish.

There has been two changes to my tank recently. I've added two large hermit crabs and my anemone detached and got sucked up into the power head and died.

Could either of these be reasons for his fins to split? How can I treat him?

What kind of large hermit crabs are they? Those would be my initial suspects.

I'm starting to notice aggressive behavior between the flame and the orange clown. Today is the first day I've noticed it. I think since the clown's anemone died she's been angry and took over the flames "spot"

Looks like the flame lost the battle. Anything I should do to help them recover and stop bickering?

Clowns are damsels after all, so they can get aggressive. Replace that anemone!:)

Assuming the aggressions subsides, your angel should recover fine. Keep water quality top notch and perhaps soak their food in selcon (vitamins) to promote healthy and a fast recovery

I'd also boot those big hermits out. I don't trust crabs, they're .

Yeah I need the anemone quick. Came home from work today and now the clownfish has taken some damage. They are going at it. I'll remove those hermits also. They are very rude. Thanks for the advice.

I've always kept clownfish with an anemone, so I never stopped to think about how obnoxious they could get without something to preoccupy them... :p
