Hi everyone,

I have a flame angel in qt. it was doing fine for a while, but recently stopped eating and looks skinny on one side. i noticed the flame has a big gash in its side and looks like white stuff is coming out of its side and its stringy. Any idea what this is our how it happened? at first it looked like it had a ripped scale, but this seems worse.

Looks like a fungal infection. You should have luck with melafix which is reef safe. Maracyn would also work

You can use that but in quarantine tank

right now he is in a 29 gallon qt tank with 6 other fish. should i put him in a 10 gallon and treat with antibiotics then copper? or pssible tank transfer method to rid of ich?

You can try an Epsom salt bath(3-4 mins) which may help heal. What im not sure of is if antibiotic and copper will mix safely

Sorry to hear that. Sure seemed to go downhill quickly

Thats not good and a pretty fish. I have two of them and always a great color addition to tank
