What other fish do you already have?
Six Lines can be aggressive so I would maybe consider a Splendid Dottyback, Neon Dottyback or trio of Azure or Tracey's Damsels.
I had a splendid dottyback a while ago and that was an awful experience. He bullied two of my fish to death, and pushed my clowns to the corner of the tank. I want to try some damsels, but are they hard to get to group up?
No but I see them schooling. No... let me take that back.... the LFSs in this area will get them in and dump them in one tank. Shock and lack of time keep them from interacting with each other very much. I have READ that they will school together but I’ve never tried it.
This is what it says on live aquaria, "Small groups or pairs tend to do better in an aquarium than a single individual, but all need to be introduced to the tank simultaneously and have plenty of swimming room." Might want to buy or make an acclimation box in case the Six Line doesn't take kindly to the newcomers.
Size isn't the only thing to consider, despite being small the dwarf angels are an active fish that require more room that you might think. Minimum tank size for the Pygmy is 55 gallons according to LA. Firefish would not tolerate each other in that small of a tank usually.
You are correct. He will be moved to my 60 very soon. I have to catch the Rabbitfish first. He was only a temporary resident to begin with and is getting too large for the 60. I bought him around 1.5 inches and he’s now about 4.5. Too big!
