Is the flame angel a good peaceful reef safe angel fish to have. Most lfs and reefers consider them 50/50 what's your ideas on them being reef safe?

Out of all the dwarf angles these imo are the most aggressive. I had to remove mine and trade it in because it was an nasty mean fish. Gorgeous fish just mean as all get out. My beat up on a bonded pair of blue throat triggers.

Loads of more peaceful dwarf angels

It's hit and miss. We've had coral beauties that were evil as a maroon clown then some flames that were gentle and personable. A lot of factors like the size of your tank, hiding places, aggressive or docile tank mates will all play a role as well.

I have a flame Angel in my mixed reef al0ng with other dwarf angels, Trigger pair and loads of other fish and I have never had any problems with the Flame Angel.

They are very active swimmers as well.

I suppose it depends very much on the individual but in my case it’s been fine and I have a full blown reef system.

They are, as all centropyge angels are, hit and miss.

The size of tank, the available food, tank mates and corals kept determine success or not. Even with perfect conditions, they can one day flip a switch and start picking on corals. This overall is the main reason reef keepers have issues with them.

Aggression, is like any other fish and can be dependant on fish personality and food competition. Hit or miss.

I have a flame and its very active, but I wouldn't say aggressive. I also have a yellow tang that's sort of the Lion King of the tank, so maybe that helps keep the flame in check..

Mine was very peaceful with other fish but nipped at any and all lps
