I am adding what I believe to be my last two fish to my tank, a flame angel and yellow tang. Should I...

A. Add the Flame first
B. Add the Yellow Tang
C. Add at same time
D. Doesn't matter

Also, this might play a part in some opinions, but I am planning on getting the smallest I can get at the LFS for both fish. I am guessing it would be 1"-2" for the Flame and 1.5"-3" for the Yellow Tang.

Angels can be bullies regardless of size. Yellow tang are usually peaceful, and highly sociable. Angel last, Tang first, but regardless I don't see any issue between the two. Esp if ur tang is larger. They can hold their own.

Yep I have the two together in my tank and have never had any issues. The Angel is definitely more the king of the tank. No one messes with him and he can do a little bullying, but its very minimal unless its a new fish then all bets are off. So add the flame last for sure.

No issues for 2 years running my blue tang keeps everyone in check. Any fighting she comes over and swims between them to break it up.

I disagree..

If you are not going to add both at the same time, and the tang last..

I don't see an issue with adding both at the same time. Out of the two the angel has always been a little more aggressive than the yellow tangs. For that reason, Angel last.

I added a Flame after my Yellow Tang was well established in the tank and the Tang was semi-aggressive towards the Flame for a few days, but now they get along fine. I'd say introduce them at the same time.

I have both fish and so happened to purchase them at the same time from the same place so they both went in together, the Yellow tang was larger but never had a problem with them fighting at all.

Both lovely fish.

My Yellow Tang (3 inches) in my 400 gallon killed my Golden Angel, Flame Angel and Lemon Peel I dropped in the tank at the same time. The Yellow was in the tank for about a month before I dropped the other 3 in. That said, I have dropped pygmy's in my tank after Yellow's in the past and have had no issues. I just think I got a wacked out yellow tang.

So, right now everything seems split on all the opinions. I do not want to add the fish at the same time if I can help it (would be easier to break it apart on the wallet). So, I would like to see everyone's opinion on option A, B, or D. But if you think they have to be added at the same time let me know as well.

I'm going with Angel first and tang second. The tank is going to get territorial and is likely to give the Angel a tough time if added second.

Get a nice and small Flame Angel and add it first. They usually don't become aggressive until they mature IME. Add the Tang last, as they can be aggressive even as juveniles. Make sure you QT both (whether together or at separate times) for at least 6-8 weeks. Treat for flukes at a minimum, and of course watch for signs of Ich, which both are susceptible to.

Yellow tangs become very territorial and aggressive over time so i would add the flame first or them both at the same time.
