Flame angel - please help identify disease

I've done the water change so I know there is fresh oxygen in there and 0 ammonia (I also have a seachem badge for that as suggested wonderful write ups) and this is how I come back to find him after dinner. Looks like the majority of his belly has been eaten away by the bacteria. Large hole forming in the rear tail and a good bit of it missing now. Probably safe to say he's a goner.

Blue Hippo still looks great.

Sorry to hear he has taken a turn for the worse, but gram negative bacterial infections are the absolute hardest to treat IME. Give me velvet any day over that. I've only had success using the Furan-2, Kanaplex, Metroplex combo IF symptoms are caught early on.

Could you set up a second Q tank? Thinking you might want to get the Tang OUT of there.

Crazy... In 4 months I've dealt with velvet and now gram negative bacteria. Rough stretch. Luckily the first pass thought me to never introduce to the DT again. I'd probably be looking at another major loss if I had of skipped it.

Yeah I'm thinking the same thing... Out to the garage to start making salt. Maybe I can talk the Mrs into letting me get a beer fridge out there to save me a few steps after lugging all those buckets.

Seriously though I know a Q tank is PITA....a seconds like what 0o ...got a spare bucket.
But at this point I think the angel is done(Im no expert nor fish doc but..).... got to save the tang(and anything else in there) and I sure wouldnt want to "save" them in the main tank.

For a solid year, every fish I put in my DT died. I got ticked off, and decided to learn everything I could about fish diseases & QT. You can too.

Yeah I think right now I'm just upset with myself for not knowing what it was and not knowing how to treat it asap. I'll be spending even more time with your articles than I already have! (which is a good thing of course ) I think another step of QT should be to view this fish more analytically. In my case I watched more in enjoyment until I just happened to notice some white patches and it didn't eat like crazy as it has been. Thanks for the pick me up.
