Posting once again about my flame angel lol. So Thursday morning I had a jawfish die of velvet, and later that night I saw that my flame angel had a few very faint but similar spots on his fins. I tried to freshwater dip him that night but he went into hiding inside the crevice of a cave where I couldn’t see him and did not ever emerge so I had to leave him in there. My QT crashed so I didn’t transfer my other fish either. I left the lights off 24/7, lowered the temperature to about 71°F, and used Herbtana Microbe-Lift because the LFS said it was the best they carried and it would be my best bet for velvet. Sunday my angel came out and has been a lot more active ever since, but I noticed he STILL has the dots on him. None of my other fish (clown, royal gramma, and scooter blenny) have any symptoms and my jawfish died very quickly, I did not see any velvet on him until he was unable to swim hours before he died. Will my flame angel and other fish be okay? Why has he retained the infection for so long? I’ve read that velvet only lasts on the host for 4 days max, and it’s taking a lot longer to act than on my jawfish. I put some pictures in case it is not velvet - the dots are very faint, and if you look closely you can see a few near his face.
