I need to find a new home for a Flame Angel. Beautiful fish, but he developed a taste for my trachy. He is also intolerant of other angels. Never caused a problem for any other corals.

He is currently living in my sump which is less than ideal. I've become attached to this fish over the last 1 1/2 years so want to find a good home for him quickly.

Every fish in my tank has been treated with copper prior to introduction so I believe them all to be parasite free.

So, free to a good home if you have a 40B or larger system and can pick him up in Decatur.

Interested. I have a new tank in Athens that I am starting to populate. Just got a pair of yellowtail Damsels and a thing (see thing below, not sure what he is) in a 300 gallon. I am going on vacation next week, and would hate to relocate the guy and leave. Can pick up on or after Labor day. If your worried about his new home I would accept constuctive review of my setup. This is an old pic, currently everything is green with new tank uglis...

Looks great, I'd love to have a system that size!

You sure I can't get you to take him in the next day or two? Even if you are on vacation, I think your system will be healthier for him than my sump. It's very difficult for me to feed him, although he has a lot of amphipods. I also don't think the light is healthy for him.

It seems my only other option is to pull my old QT system from the attic and set it up to keep him in. I can do that, but I would rather not have to.

I can pick up Wednesday night. I will be leaving on Sunday to the following Monday. This will give me Thursday thru Saturday to make sure he is acclimated. Where do you keep your salinity? I am at 34 ppt right now. With 8.2 ph.

Man, that would be great! I'm thrilled to see him go to such a big tank.

My salinity is 34ppt right now also. pH is 8.4 according to my probe, but I haven't calibrated it in awhile. Likely in the 8.2 range.

I'll put him in a bag. I wouldn't both with anything other than a temp acclimation.

I have to ask, how is the little guy adjusting to his new home?

Just about punched his way out of the bag when I was floating him. He got down in some rocks swam around and found a hole right away. I saw him in the rock this morning before I left for work, but he didn't come out. I will be home in a couple hours, I'll let you know.

Got worried when I came home, no signs of your girl. Watched the tank for a few minutes, so I put some thawed LRS food in the tank and made a little cloud to see if she would come out. Nothin.... I walked all the way around as the food dispersed. Nothin. As the food was about gone I see a mouth popping out from under a rock. She's claimed a deep cave and wasn't coming out as long as the food was floating in. Was eating good so I think we are good.

Thanks for the update!

She has always been a little skittish. Once you get more fish in your system she should come out more. Some dithering fish give her confidence to be out and swimming.
Fish often assume that if there aren't other fish swimming around that there must be a predator near by. I would say nothing to worry about.
